Karis Tees, Jr. Choir Director

Karis Tees came to St. Paul’s in the fall of 2013 to serve in the role of Sun­day School music leader. Since Sep­tem­ber of 2016, she has also served as the Junior Choir Direc­tor. Karis holds a BA Hon­ours in Con­tem­po­rary Stud­ies and Reli­gious Stud­ies from the Uni­ver­si­ty of King’s Col­lege, where she cur­rent­ly works as the Chapel Admin­is­tra­tor, sings in the Chapel Choir as a Lay Clerk, and directs the Women’s Com­pline Choir. Karis is also a folk musi­cian and can often be found singing and play­ing gui­tar in liv­ing rooms, kitchens, and the occa­sion­al bar around Hal­i­fax. She enjoys hik­ing, cycling, and swim­ming as often as pos­si­ble. Orig­i­nal­ly from Dun­das, Ontario, she has fall­en in love with the beau­ti­ful land of Nova Sco­tia and is glad for every rea­son to stay.
