Celebrating 250 years of service in Christ's name!

Maggie Duinker, Music Ministries

Maggie Duinker (nee Linklater) is a native of Sudbury, Ontario. Maggie studied piano and music education at the University of Western Ontario. Further study at the Kodaly Institute in Hungary gave her experience in the Kodaly Method of music education for children. Maggie and her husband, Peter, have raised their four children in a number of cities and are delighted to be back in Halifax, where they both studied during the 1980s. Playing with the contemporary music team allows Maggie to develop her interest in liturgical music and to make music regularly with her children (Kate, guitar and vocals; Ben, drums and bass; Oriana, horn; and Nelle, recorder and oboe.) Maggie often joins the choir at St George's Anglican Church for special services.

In addition to her involvement at St Paul's, Maggie teaches at the Halifax Independent Elementary School where she has a class of pre-primary 4-year-olds and music classes for grades primary to six, with a small choir and band as well. The great diversity of musical challenges each week makes for a lively and interesting career. Maggie offers here thanks to God for His many blessings.
